How to fix insufficient cooling in Rheem Air Conditioner?
- JjanicewilliamsonAug 22, 2025
Insufficient cooling in your Rheem Air Conditioner can stem from several issues. The unit might be improperly sized, requiring a recalculation of the load. There could be improper indoor airflow; check to ensure it's approximately 400 CFM per ton. An incorrect refrigerant charge is another possibility; charge the system per the procedure attached to the unit service panel. Also, air, noncondensibles, or moisture in the system can cause this problem, requiring refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and recharge, along with the addition of a filter drier. Finally, a faulty ID TXV could be the culprit, necessitating replacement.
