Using the Zoom Function
Turning the zoom lever toward z
(Telephoto) allows you to take a close-up
picture of the subject. Turning the zoom
lever toward Z (Wide-angle) allows you
to take a wide-angle picture. The amount
of zoom is shown by the zoom bar and the
zoom ratio in the picture display.

The optical zoom magnifies images
up to 10.7×, and the super resolution
zoom magnifies images up to 2.0×.
When using the super resolution
zoom, the symbol appears on the
picture display.
The super resolution zoom allows you
to enlarge the subject with less image deterioration.

The [On] option selected for [Step Zoom] (GP.116) in the setup menu
(GP.114) allows optical zoom to be adjusted in eight discrete steps, and
super resolution zoom to be adjusted in two discrete steps.
The super resolution zoom is enabled when the [Normal] option is selected for
[Digital Zoom Image] (GP.117) in the setup menu (GP.114).
The super resolution zoom function cannot be used in continuous mode, in
[Golf Swing Continuous Mode] in scene mode, in creative shooting mode, or
during shooting movie.
