If you are using the camera for the first time, read this section.

Push the ADJ./OK button !" to select the flash mode.
The flash mode symbol is displayed at the upper left of the picture
display.
Caution ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The flash mode symbol blinks at the upper left of the picture display when the
flash is charging, and you cannot shoot during charging (approx. 5 seconds).
Once the flash is charged, the symbol stops blinking and lights steadily, and the
camera is ready to shoot.
After the camera is turned on, it may take longer for the camera to become
ready for shooting when using the flash.

The flash mode setting is retained until you push the ADJ./OK button toward F
(Flash) again.
Flash level can be adjusted using the [Flash Exposure Compensation] item
(GP.70) in the shooting menu (GP.66).
The auxiliary flash fires to increase the AE accuracy.
The flash can not be used or some flash modes can not be selected in some
shooting modes or with some shooting menu options (GP.144).
