Reducing the Waiting Time
After the job data is sent to the printer, wait time might occur to reach the target fusing temperature to
start printing.
Cause
It takes time to cool down the fusing unit if you use paper that is set lower fusing temperature. By
changing standby target fusing temperature might reduce the waiting time.
Changing the settings of Fusing temperature to allow paper transfer after warming up” (Adjust
fusing temperature to transfer paper) might reduce the waiting time.
Solution
1. Register the problem paper brand in "Custom Paper Settings" if it is not registered".
2. Check the heat roller temperature (No.1232) in "Custom Paper Setting". (No.1232-01, 06 to 09, 26
to 29, 46, 51 to 54, and 71 to 74)
When the temperature is 160 degrees or less: proceed to step 2
When the temperature is more than 160 degrees: proceed to step 3.
3. In Adjustment Settings for Operators > No. 0403 "Fusing Temperature on Standby", change all the
following settings to a value 10°C lower than the current value.
01: Heat Rlr: On Standby
02: Heat Rlr: On Panel Off
07: Press Rlr: Before Process
4. Change the value of Fusing Temperature Range (No. 1235) in "Custom Paper Setting" by +3 from
the current value.
The upper limit is +9. Do not set any value larger than that.
After changing the value of Fusing Temperature Range, there might be some differences in
gloss level or fusing intensity.
After taking the above measures, we recommend performing color calibration again for the
DFE.
