change the value by +1 notch at a time and check the effect. Excessively increasing the setting
value can cause a residual image (negative ghost) or a faint image.
Depending on the paper, changing the paper transfer output just by -1 notch may not be enough
to obtain a recognizable effect. If necessary, change the value by up to -5 notches from the
default value and see if any improvement is made. If any improvement is made, further change
the value by -1 notch at a time and check the effect. Excessively decreasing the setting value
can cause a faint image.
If any improvement is made by adjusting the image/paper transfer output, perform the steps of
Solutions 2 to 4 with the best image/paper transfer output.
Solution 2 (Toner Refreshing)
Print full dot image on full page to eject toner from the development unit.
The conditions of paper feed are "paper size larger than A3, full dot image, and 60 sheets".
Example of settings
1. Select "27: Full Dot Pattern" in SP2-109-003 (Test Pattern: Pattern Selection).
2. Set SP2-109-007,008,009 (Test Pattern: Density: 2st, 3st, 4st) to "0".
3. Print 30 copies of a duplex 2-page job (60 pages of K solid images are output).
Solution 3 (Increasing the black toner adhesion)
Increase the toner adhesion amount by Toner Adhesion Adjustment (SP mode) that is enabled only in
high temperature, high humidity environments.
The toner adhesion amount increases only when the value of SP3-261-003 (Temp/Humid (Body):
Absolute Humidity) is 12 g/m3 or more.
1. Increase the values of SP3-620-202 (ProCon Target M/A:Environ Corr1) and SP3-620-203
(ProCon Target M/A:Environ Corr2). Be sure to increase both values.
ï‚· SP3-620-202: Change the default value "0" to "+0.011". If the obtained effect is not enough,
change it to +0.021.
ï‚· SP3-620-203: Change the default value "0" to "+0.021". If the obtained effect is not enough,
change it to +0.042.
In order to minimize the differences in the adhesion amount that varies depending on the
environment, set a value half of -203 as the value of -202.
2. Execute SP 3-011-002 (Manual ProCon :Exe: Density Adjustment).
Solution 4 (Printing Black using a four-color)
You can also avoid low density of black color by printing black text and graphics as a four-color
black using C, M, Y, K with Command WorkStation.
1. Select [Job Properties].
2. Select [Color] tab.
3. Select [Expert Settings] in color mode.
4. Select [Gray & Black Processing Options].
