Case
The GX-2009 s sturdy, high-impact plastic case is radio frequency (RF)
re s is tant, and is s uitable fo r us e in many e nviro nme ntal c o nditio ns,
indoors and out. The unit is dust proof and water resistant. Rubber
overmolded surfaces on much of the case help protect it from impact
damage and aid in ho lding the ins trume nt in yo ur hand.
A c lear plastic windo w thro ugh whic h the LCD c an be viewe d is lo c ated o n
the front of the case. Three brass charging contacts that are used when
the GX-2009 is placed in the charging station are on the back of the case.
Fo ur senso r diffusion po rts are lo c ated o n the bottom of the c ase. The
po rts are labe lle d as fo llo ws fro m le ft to right: H

S, CO, HC, and O

. Three
frosted windows, one on the left side, one of the right side, and one on
top, cover alarm LED arrays. There are two buzzer sound openings, one
on the front below the LCD and one on the top behind the top LED array.
An IR (infrared) c o mmunic atio n po rt is lo c ate d o n the to p left s ide whic h is
used to transfer information when the instrument is used with one of the
c alibratio n o r do wnlo ading ac c e s so rie s .
There are three threaded inserts on the back of the case. These are used
to mo unt the allig ato r c lip o r the o ptio nal be lt c lip.
