Interpretation of Results

®
-measurements are not self-explaining. They must be interpreted by a tree
expert. The impulse velocity is highly correlated with wood density, but is also affected by
wood anatomical parameters and wood density. Therefore, wood quality cannot be
derived from the impulse tomogram directly. In particular differences between wood
species must be taken into account.
The ARBOTOM®-user takes the responsibility for interpretation of measurements. To
achieve an optimum of results, we recommend attending one of our training seminars.
