Replace Tandem Wheeled Puck Wear Surfaces
The various wear surfaces on the tandem wheeled pucks must be replaced once they have
become worn due to extended use (typically greater than 8,000 km travel for the lateral guide
wheels and bumpers, and 16,000 km travel for the suspension wheels). This procedure pro-
vides instructions to replace worn wear surfaces on the following tandem wheeled pucks:
• PN-543022, Wheeled Puck Assy, Tandem, HP
Required Tools and Equipment
• PN-543023 – Wheeled Puck, Tandem, HP, Single (2X)
• PN-538734 – Linkage Plate, Thrust Bearing, Puck, ML
• 100-1986-01 – Washer, Thrust, Cust, 20 ID, 36 OD, 1.5Th (2X)
• PN-538737 – Bearing, Flange,15 mm Flg, 8 mm ID x 5.5 Lng (2X)
• PN-538746 – Thrust Washer 8 mm x 15 mm x 1.5 mm (2X)
• PN-538788 – Screw, Shldr, SS, M6 x 1 x 11 L, 8 Dia x 10 L (2X)
• PN-538747 – Washer Gasket, 8 mm X 15 mm (2X)
• 000-0743-00 – Fixture, Tandem Linkage Plate Installation.
• Loctite 243, Thread locker Anaerobic Adhesive, Blue.
• Isopropyl Alcohol.
CAUTION
Strong Magnets
To avoid severe injury, people with pacemakers and other
medical electronic implants must stay away from the magnet
array on the vehicles (pucks).
To avoid injury from strong magnetic attractive forces:
• Handle only one vehicle (puck) or magnet array at a time.
• Do not place any body parts, such as fingers, between a
vehicle (puck) or magnet array and any ferrous material
or another magnet array.
• Vehicles (pucks) or magnet arrays not being used must be
secured individually in isolated packaging.
To avoid damage to watches, instruments, electronics, and
magnetic media, keep metal tools, metal objects, magnetic
media (for example, memory disks/chips, credit cards, and
tapes) and electronics away from the magnet arrays.
