Replace Suspension Wheels
A. Remove the #10–32 shoulder screws that secure the four suspension wheels
onto the puck body and dispose of properly.
B. Remove the wheels and washers and dispose of properly.
C. Verify the wheel axle areas for the four suspension wheels are clean. Clean if
necessary.
D. Insert the new shoulder screws into the hub of the new wheels.
E. Insert a washer on the inner side of each wheel.
F. Locate the new wheels and secure using the new #10–32 shoulder screws.
Tighten to 2.8 N•m [25 in•lb].
The Loctite must cure for 2 hours at 22° C [72° F] before using the puck.
Replace Lateral Guide Wheels and Septum Wheels
A. Remove the two M4 shoulder screws that secure the puck body to the magnet
array.
B. Remove the septum wheels and dispose of properly.
C. Flip the puck body over and remove the four T8 wide head screws that secure
the four lateral guide wheels onto the puck body and dispose of properly.
D. Remove the wheels and dispose of properly.
E. Verify the wheel wells and axle areas for the four lateral guide wheels are
clean. Clean if necessary.
F. Insert the hub of the new wheels onto the new M4 shoulder screws.
G. Locate the new wheels and secure using the new M4 screws. Tighten to
0.9 N•m [8 in•lb].
The Loctite must cure for 2 hours at 22° C [72° F] before using the puck
H. Verify the wheel and axle areas for the two septum wheels are clean. Clean if
necessary.
I. Flip the puck body over and locate it on the magnet array.
J. Insert the new septum wheels into place in line with the threaded standoffs on
the magnet array.
K. Secure the puck body to the magnet array using the new M4 shoulder screws.
Tighten to 1.4 N•m [12 in•lb].
The Loctite must cure for 2 hours at 22° C [72° F] before using the puck.
3. Replace the puck on the transport system (see Replace Pucks on page 78).
