GS Reset (Exclusive message common to all GS Format sound generators)
The GS Reset message is used to set the values for all settings in any GS Format sound generator
to the GS basic setteings.
<RX> The instrument’s sound generator will be set to the common basic settings for all GS
Format devices. Additionally, it will start responding to all NRPNs defined in the GS Format.
Master Volume (Universal Exclusive)
This Universal Exclusive message is used to control the master volume of a sound generator.
<RX> The master volume is altered accordingly.
Other Exclusive Messages (Exclusive messages common to all GS Format sound
generators)
<TX> The instrument will send out data which details the settings currently in effect within its
sound generator in response to a “Request Data” message (☞ MIDI Implementation p. 44).
<RX> The SK-50 supports all Exclusive messages that the GS Format defines as being universal
for all GS-compatible sound generating units. Applications or external controllers which support
the GS Format can therefore be used to make a complete range of precise settings for this
instrument’s internal sound generator.
