Adjusting the chorus and reverb
effects
The FR-18 diatonic contains two digital effects: Chorus
and Reverb. The chorus effect gives the impression that
several instruments of the same type are playing at the
same time (it is similar to detuning several reeds of a
register). The reverb effect gives the impression that you
are playing in a concert hall, a church or a room. It adds
“depth” to the sound.
You can change the type and the level settings of these
two effects (see p. 44). Those settings apply to all sec-
tions and all Sets.
Changing the key note of the
keyboard
The KEY function lets you play the FR-18 diatonic in any
key. This is convenient when you are asked to play cer-
tain songs in a different key than the one currently
assigned to the selected tablature.
The FR-18 diatonic allows you to choose among 12 keys:
C, C#, D, Eb, E, F, F#, G, Ab, A, Bb, B
At power-on, the FR-18 diatonic automatically selects
the key of G. To change the key, proceed as follows:
1.
Press the [KEY] button (it lights).
The first button row of the treble keyboard doesn’t
play.
2.
Press any of the 12 treble buttons in the
first row to select the desired key.
See the key indications above the treble button key-
board. The [KEY] button goes dark.
Saving the ‘Key’ setting
The FR-18 diatonic allows you to save your preferred key
permanently, so that you don’t need to select it again
each time you switch it on:
1.
Press and hold the [SET] register (it flashes).
The Treble keyboard doesn’t play.
2.
Press the [KEY] button (it lights).
The [SET] register flashes rapidly.
3.
Press a treble button in the first row to
select your preferred key.
The numbers above the first row of the treble button
keyboard will help you choose and save the right key.
4.
Press the [SET] register once to exit Func-
tion mode.
NOTE
Every time you switch on the FR-18 diatonic, the saved key
note will be recalled.
