Chapter 7. Using MIDI
Switching the patches of an external device
You can select whether or not Program Changes will be
transmitted when you change patches.
* The Program Changes transmitted for patches are fixed. You
may want to alter Program Change reception map settings on
the external device when necessary.
1. Make sure you’re in Play page.
If you’re not in Play page, press [EXIT] several times.
2. Press [F6] (SYSTEM).
3. Press [F5] (MIDI).
4. Press [F4] (PROGRAM CHANGE OUT).

5. Rotate [VALUE] to switch transmission ON or OFF.
6. Press [EXIT] several times to return to the Play page.
* This setting is preserved even after you turn off the power.
Selecting the Program Change
map
By transmitting bank select and Program Change messages
from an external MIDI device to the VG-88, you can switch
VG-88 patches without using its foot pedals or [VALUE] dial.
1. Make sure you’re in Play page.
If you’re not in Play page, press [EXIT] several times.
2. Press [F6] (SYSTEM).
3. Press [F5] (MIDI).
4. Press [F6] (PROG MAP).
5. Press [F5] (PC MAP SELECT).

6. Rotate [VALUE] to change the setting.
FIX:
The default patch number will be selected.
PROG:
The patch number you specified in the Program
Change map will be selected.
7. Press [EXIT] several times to return to the Play page.
* This setting is preserved even after you turn off the power.
