Step 10 - Compliance Adjustment.
a. Set the Series 800 to 100V, 110VA, 1.1 Amp, 50Hz, 1.0 PF Operate. Refer to section 4.2.2
for equipment set-up description. Observe the MSB-001A Watt Converter DC voltage output.
Insert a 2 ohm, 10 watt resistor in series with the high lead of the 0.1 ohm resistor and adjust
R186 on the CVA chassis for a -0.02% change in the watt converter output.
Step 11 - 1.1-10.999 Amp Adjustment
a. Set the Series 800 to 120V, 600VA, 5 Amps, 50Hz, 1.0 PF, Operate, and adjust R79 on the
CVA Module for 5.0000 Amps, ±0.003%. Refer to 4.2.2, Voltage Accuracy Tests.
b. 10 Amp Adjustment, 400Hz (Control Logic) Set the Series 800 to 120V, 600VA, 5 Amps,
400Hz, 1.0 PF Operate. Adjust R101 on the Control Logic Module for 5.0000 ±0.003%.
Refer to 4.2.2, Voltage Accuracy Tests.
Step 12 - 110-1099.9mA Adjustment
a. Set the Series 800 to 120V, 120VA, 1000mA, 50Hz, 1.0 PF Operate. Adjust R80 on the CVA
Module for 1000.00mA, ±0.003%. Refer to 4.2.2, Voltage Accuracy Tests.
Step 13 - 11-109.99mA Adjustment
a. Set the Series 800 to 120V, 12VA, 100mA, 50Hz, 1.0 PF Operate. Adjust R82 on the CVA
Module for 100.000mA, ±0.01%. Refer to 4.2.2, Voltage Accuracy Tests.
Step 14 - 11-50.000 Amp Adjustment
a. Adjustment at 50/60Hz. Set the Series 800 to 120V, 1320VA, 11 Amps., 1.0 PF, 50Hz or
60Hz Operate. Adjust R49 on CVA Module for 11.000 Amps ±0.003%. Refer to 4.2.2,
Voltage Accuracy Tests.
b. Adjustment at 400Hz. Set the 800 to 120V, 1320VA, 11 Amps, 1.0 PF, 400Hz, Operate.
Adjust R100 on Control Logic Module for 11.000 Amps ±0.003%. Refer to 4.2.2, Voltage
Accuracy Tests.
Step 15 - Unity PF Lead/Lag Adjustment
a. Set the Series 800 to 120V, 120VA, 50Hz, 1.0 PF. Place a short from current output high to
current output low. Using a two channel oscilloscope, synchronize channel A on TP14
(voltage), Phase Control & Sense. Attach channel B to TP3 (current), Phase Control &
Sense. Synchronize on the negative edge with normal, high frequency filter and alternate
sweep settings on oscilloscope. Set timing to 2 µSec/division. Adjust R29, Phase Control &
Sense, such that the negative going waveforms pass through their baselines at the same
time ±0.5 µSec. Alternate synch. between A and B channels to make sure trailing edge is
properly adjusted. There may be a jitter of ±1 µSec between the two waveforms.
Next, synchronize on the positive edge of channel A. The two positive going waveforms
should pass through their baselines (zero) at the same time ±1 µSec. Adjust R15, Phase
Control & Sense to cause coincidence. There may be a jitter of ±1 µSec between the
waveforms.
b. PF adjustment, Lead. Set the Series 800 as in 14.0 above except set to 0.0 PF Lead. Adjust
R169 on the Phase Control & Sense for a reading of 0.000, +0.001. Refer to procedure
described in paragraph 4.3.5. Select best compromise setting between 50 and 60Hz
response.
