Step 6 - Phase Control & Sense
a. Adjustment of Precision Attenuator, Phase Control & Sense. Using the same set-up as in 5b
above, make the following adjustments at TP8 on the Phase Control & Sense, according to
the table below. Push the Reset button before proceeding.

Step 7 - AC Calibration.
a. Current Oscillator Amplitude Adjustment. Set the Series 800 to 120V, 600W, 5A, Operate,
1.0 PF Lagging. Using a calibrated Fluke Model 931 adjust R92 for 7.0711V AC, 50Hz at
TP11 on the Oscillator module. Use TP13 as ground. Use Figure 4-3 for calibration of Fluke
Model 931.
b. Phase buffer Amplifier. Adjust R36 for 7.0711V AC, 50Hz at TP4 on the Phase Control &
Sense module.
c. Precision AC Attenuator (CVA). Make the following adjustments at TP1 and TP3 on the
CVA module according to the following table. Place the Series 800 in Operate. Use TP13 as
ground.

d. DC Balance Adjustment on CVA Module. Using Keithley Model 155 Null Detector with filter,
with the Series 800 set to 100V, 177VA, 1.77 Amps, adjust R165 at TP12 to 0V DC on 1mV
scale. Next enter 188VA, 1.88 Amps and record reading from null meter (example: Reading
of +40mV DC). Now adjust R165 so that the meter reads +20mV DC. This should give the
correct DC balance on +20mV DC at 1.88 Amps and -20mV DC at 1.77 Amps.
Step 8 - 10-120V Adjustment.
a. With Model 931 attached to voltage output terminals, set the Series 800 to 120V, 50Hz, 1 PF
Operate, and adjust R108 on the Phase Control & Sense Module for 120.000V AC, ±0.002%.
Next, set the Series 800 to 10V, 50Hz, 1.0 PF, Operate, and sense for 10.00000 AC,
±0.005%. If 10V is low, adjust R159 on Phase Control & Sense counterclockwise to bring
10V into specification. 120V output may have to be readjusted by R108. Place the unit in
Standby.
Step 9 - 121-749V Adjustment.
a. Set the Series 800 to 400V, 400VA, 1 Amp, 50Hz, 1.0 PF Operate, and adjust R102 on the
Control & Sense for 400.00V AC, 0.002%. Place the Series 800 in Standby. Remove output
voltage leads. Remove short on Current terminals.
