8 x Faults and malfunctions
8.1 Troubleshooting
The control system integrated into the Indoor Module (RKHB) recognises a faults created by the ROTEX HeatPumpSolarUnit and
displays a fault code on the display of the user interface.
Troubleshooting
Detecting and remedying the cause of the malfunction.
Contactor triggered:
Nothing shown on the display of the user interface. Ascertain cause of triggering the contactor and remedy fault. Start
up system again.
Once the cause has been removed, a test run of the system is carried out. After that, the system continues to run as
normal.
Contactor not triggered:
No fault codes are shown but the system is not working properly. Look for causes and remedy them (see Chapter8.2
"Malfunctions").
Once the cause has been eliminated, the system continues to work normally.
Fault codes are displayed and the Operation LED flashes as long as the fault condition is present. Look for causes and
remedy them (see Chapter8.3 "Fault codes"). To unlock the system, the system has to be switched off manually to
reset the fault code and then must be started again. The procedure is described in Tab. 8-1.
Once the cause has been eliminated, the system continues to work normally.

A ROTEX HeatPumpSolarUnit maintained incorrectly may not operate properly and is dangerous for the health
and safety of individuals.
Checking and maintaining the ROTEX HeatPumpSolarUnitare only to be carried out by people who are
authorised and who have successfully completed a qualifying technical or skilled manual training program
for the particular work to be carried out and who have participated in a professional development seminar
held by the appropriate responsible authority. These include in particular certified heating engineers,
qualified electricians and HVAC specialists, who because of their professional training and expert
knowledge, have experience in the professional installation and maintenance of heating, cooling and air
conditioning systems and heat pumps.
Incorrect maintenance makes the manufacturer's guarantee for the unit void. If you have questions,
