8.3 Fault codes
Fault code Component/Designation Fault and possible causes
80
Temperature sensor Feed water temper-
ature
Temperature sensor Feed water on the Indoor Module (RKHB) is defective (Position of components
see Chapter2.2.1 "Indoor Module (RKHB)").
81
Temperature sensor Discharge water
temperature
Temperature sensor Discharge water on the Indoor Module (RKHB) is defective (Position of compo-
nents see Chapter2.2.1 "Indoor Module (RKHB)").
89
Failure of the frost protection function of
the water heat exchanger
Failure of the frost protection function of the water heat exchanger because the water flow is too
low. See fault code "7H".
Failure of the frost protection function of the water heat exchanger because there is not enough
refrigerant in the system.
7H Flow disruption water circuit
Water flow is too low or there is none at all, required minimum water flow
12 l/min). Check the
following items:
• All stop valves of the water circuit must be completely open.
• Water filter must not be dirty.
• System must run within its operating parameters (see Chapter10 "Technical data").
• System must be completely evacuated.
• Check the water pressure at the pressure gauge (<0.3 bar).
• Pump speed must be set to the highest level.
• External static pressure must correspond to the characteristic curve in Fig 10.2.4, Page 124
when the level is set accordingly.
A higher pressure indicates internal resistance in the water circuit.
• Expansion tank is not defective.
• If this fault occurs during defrost operation in the operating mode room heating or water
heating: Check the power supply of the Backup Heater (BH) and its fuses.
• In the switch box of the Indoor Module (RKHB), check the pump fuse (FU2) and the conductor
board fuse (FU1).
8H
Discharge water temperature on the
Indoor Module (RKHB) >65 °C
Discharge water temperature on the Indoor Module (RKHB) is too high (>65 °C).
– Contactor of the Backup Heater (BH) triggered or
– Temperature sensor Discharge water temperature provides incorrect values.
(Position of components see Chapter2.2.1 "Indoor Module (RKHB)")
A1
Conductor board for Indoor Module
(RKHB)
Malfunction message. Contact ROTEX service engineer.
AA
STL Booster Heater (EHS) STL in the Booster Heater (EHS) triggered: Check position of STL and unlock see Fig 4-72, Page 53.
Thermal protection switch Backup Heater
(BH)
Thermal protection switch Backup Heater (BH) triggered: Check thermal protection switch Backup
Heater (BH) and unlock by pressing the component's own reset button (position of components see
Chapter2.2.1 "Indoor Module (RKHB)").
Overheating fuse for Backup Heater (BH)
Overheating fuse for Backup Heater (BH) burnt out: Replace overheating fuse for the Backup Heater
(BH) (position of components, see Chapter2.2.1 "Indoor Module (RKHB)").
C0 Current switch
Current switch failed (stays shut, while pump is stopped): Check current switch for contamination
and replace if necessary (position of components see Chapter2.2.1 "Indoor Module (RKHB)").
C4
Temperature sensor heat exchanger
(Indoor Module (RKHB)
Temperature sensor Heat exchanger on the Indoor Module (RKHB) is defective (Position of compo-
nents see Chapter2.2.1 "Indoor Module (RKHB)").
E1
Conductor board for Outdoor Module
(RRHQ)
Malfunction message. Contact ROTEX service engineer.
E3 Pressure in refrigerant system
Pressure in refrigerant system is too high. System must run within its operating parameters (see
Chapter10 "Technical data").
E4
Low pressure sensor Outdoor Module
(RRHQ)
Low pressure sensor of Outdoor Module (RRHQ) has been activated. Check system for loss of refrig-
erant and if necessary check low pressure sensor (short circuit).
E5
Overload protection refrigerant compres-
sor
Overload protection refrigerant compressor triggered. System must run within its operating param-
eters (see Chapter10 "Technical data").
