Please quote the pump Serial number when ordering parts; the information in the nameplate is relevant
in some sections of this manual to ensure safe operation of this pump.
1.2 PUMP CASE, IMPELLER, AND WEAR RINGS
1.2.1 Pump Case
The pump casing is radially split and centerline mounted. The casing configurations available are a top
suction and discharge nozzles for the J and JD configurations and side suction and discharge nozzles for
the JS and JDS configurations.
1.2.2 Impeller and Wear Rings
All impellers are double suction and dynamically balanced. All wear rings are replaceable. Case wear
rings are mounted in the machined fits in the casing and pump cover. Impeller wear rings are mounted
in the impeller’s hub and shroud. All wear rings are held in place by headless set screws.
1.3 BEARING HOUSING
The bearing design allows the housing to use mechanical seal as a standard option.
The radial ball bearing is of the single row, deep groove type, held in place by a lock washer and a lock
nut.
The axial bearing is of the duplex ball type, held in place by a lock washer and a lock nut.
Other bearing arrangements are available.
