7 Maintenance
The positioner does not require any mainte
-
nance.
There are filters with a 100
μ
m mesh size in
the pneumatic connections for supply and
output which can be removed and cleaned, if
required.
The maintenance instructions of any up
-
stream supply air pressure reducing stations
must be observed.
8 Servicing explosion-protected
devices
If a part of the positioner on which the explo
-
sion protection is based needs to be serviced,
the positioner must not be put back into op
-
eration until an expert has inspected the de
-
vice according to explosion protection re
-
quirements, has issued a certificate stating
this or given the device a mark of conformity.
Inspection by an expert is not required if the
manufacturer performs a routine test on the
device prior to putting it back into operation.
The passing of the routine test must be docu
-
mented by attaching a mark of conformity to
the device.
Devices that have already been used outside
of hazardous areas and are intended for use
in hazardous areas in future must comply
with the safety demands placed on repaired
devices. Prior to operation, they must be
tested according to the specifications stipu-
lated for "Repairing explosion-protected de-
vices".
