ISO
- AUTO :
The camera's sensitivity is automatically changed
by variables such as lighting value or subject
brightness.
- 100, 200, 400, 800 :
You can increase the shutter speed while the
same amount of light is present, by increasing
the ISO sensitivity. However, the image may be
saturated in high luminance.
The higher the ISO value, the greater is the camera’s sensitivity to light;
therefore it has a greater capacity for taking pictures in darker conditions.
However, the noise level in the image will increase as the ISO value increases,
making the image appear coarse.
■ You can select the ISO sensitivity when taking pictures.
The speed or specific light-sensitivity of a camera is rated in ISO numbers.
Shutter Speed / Aperture Value
■ This camera automatically adjusts the shutter speed and aperture values to the
shooting environment. However, in NIGHT SCENE mode, you can set the
shutter speed and aperture values to your preference.
● Adjusting the shutter speed and aperture values
1. Select the [Night] scene mode. (p.34)
2. Press the LT menu button and a menu for selecting
the shutter speed and aperture value will display.

4. Press the MENU button again. The value you set will be saved and the mode
will switch to NIGHT SCENE mode.
※ High Shutter speeds can capture a moving object in a still image as if the object
is not moving. Low Shutter speeds can capture a moving object with an ‘active’
effect.
※ Smaller Aperture values make the object sharp but blur the background.
Larger Aperture values make both the object and background sharp.
