Safety, Operation and Maintenance Manual-September 30, 2019
2.5.18 Working at areas with high volt-
age power lines
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
If the equipment comes into contact with overhead or underground electricity lines, a
current transfer to the equipment occurs. Persons in the immediate vicinity receive an
electric shock as well as burns, which can cause serious or fatal injuries.
• Before starting work, ask an authorized person about the prescribed safety distance.
Always observe the required safety distance.
• Before starting work, inform the company responsible for the power supply.
• Personnel working near high voltage power lines must be familiar with safety rules during
operation. Personal protection and accident precautions should comply with relevant regulations
of the power company in charge.
• To ensure the equipment does not exceed the clearance range, operator should consider
factors such as mast position, ground condition, wind force.
• If construction around high voltage power lines cannot be avoided, notify relevant electric
department, and ask professionals to handle it.

• If the ambient humidity is high, electric
shock may also happen without touching
the power line.
NOTE:
When working near overhead power lines,
any parts of the machine, working tools, or
hoisted load should keep a safety clear-
ance of three meters. When the voltage is
above 5000 v, for each 1000 voltages, the
corresponding distance should increase
one meter.
