Your camera can minimize a jittery picture by compensating for unintentional
hand motion.
HINT
If the motion compensation does not seem to be working...
• Due to the mechanical characteristics of this function, it may not be
possible for the camera to compensate for violent motion.
• If the digital zoom (page 81) is being used, the large magnification factor
may make it difficult for the motion compensation function to work correctly.
• When the scene select function is set to night view portrait _ or lamp
_, the motion compensation effect may be insignificant.
Can't set the "photo stabilizer" setting?
• The photo stabilizer is automatically turned off _ after any of the
following operations.
Pressing the flash button [ _ ] to open the flash unit.
Setting the exposure to _, [_ or _ (pages 64 and 108).
Setting the photo wide D-range setting (pages 64 and 110) to "ON".
Setting the still image NR (noise reduction) setting (page 138) to "ON".
Starting video clip recording.
Setting the camera to the sequential shots mode (pages 60 and 100).
When motion compensation is enabled,
• The followin( icons are shown on the monitor:
00:04:30 _ The video stabilizer is active
i_'_ The photo stabilizer is active
Both the video stabilizer and the photo stabilizer are
active
Did the scene select setting change?
• When the photo stabilizer is set to [_, if the scene select setting is _, it
will automatically change to [_.
