6.3.2 Ground Connector
Watson SHDSL router is fitted with a ground connector (Functional Earth). The functional earth
does not serve the purpose of providing protection against electrical shock, but instead enhances
surge suppression on the SHDSL lines for installations where suitable bonding facilities exist.
Do not connect this terminal to the protective earth (PE) at the socket outlet where the CPE is
plugged in. This terminal may be left unconnected where no suitable bonding facilities exist.

The connector type is Faston 4.8 x 0.5 mm connector (DIN 46244) The hole in the rear panel is di-
mensioned for non-insulated Faston ferrules (DIN 46245).
