Check procedure for current control circuits
G 240 :
(level 1 and 2)
Stage 1 : Machine connected to mains.
Close master switch.
Checks :
Using a multimeter set at Vdc, check between points of Card 15.14.254 of fig. :
yes
: go on ; no : replace flat connector and/or plastic front panel
Stage 2 : Machine connected to mains
When machine has cooled down (idle for ten minutes)
Close the master switch
Checks :
Check status of yellow LED on front panel :
yes
: go on ; no : check on board 15.14.254 (only from version 2 onwards):
yes
: go on ; no : after rechecking the voltage between points b-bb = 565Vdc (@ 400Vac)
replace part 14.60.060
- on board 15.14.254 (version 1 only), using a tester set to Vdc, measure between the terminals:
TP7 - TP3 = 5V approx.
yes
: go on ; no : after rechecking the voltage between points b-bb = 565Vdc (@ 400Vac)
replace part 14.60.060
- on board 15.14.254, using a tester set to Vdc, measure between the terminals:
CN2/2 - CN2/3 = 0V
yes
: go on ; no : check continuity of connection between T1, T3 and pressure switch
(if WU15 present) according to attached diagram
- on board 15.14.254, using a tester set to Vdc, measure between the terminals:
CN4/1 - CN4/2 = 0V
yes
: go on ; no : check correct insertion of the connector CN4 on board 15.14.254
- using a tester set to Vdc, measure between the points indicated on board 15.14.254:
CN3/2 - TP3 = 5V approx.
yes
: go on ; no : replace board 14.60.060
Stage 3 : Machine connected to mains.
Front panel selector set to:
MMA if the test is performed with static load
or TIG if performed in welding
Close the master switch.
Apply the load or weld in TIG, setting currents increasing from minimum to maximum
(Caution: in the static load test the load must be adapted to the different currents.
Adaptation to currents below 30A is difficult).
