4.6 Shutdown Procedures
1. After feeding the final drive, wait approximately 60 seconds before pressing the STOP pushbutton.
a. This will allow STAGE 1 to clear before activating timed shutdown (approximately 210 seconds) in which
the machine will shutdown automatically after the 210 seconds.
Warning: Bypassing timed-shutdown can cause damage to or jamming of the STAGE 2 Chamber.
b. The STOP pushbutton will illuminate and the START pushbutton will extinguish.
2. Turn key-switch to the OFF position or engage e-stop on left side of the cabinet.
3. Begin daily cleanup and maintenance procedures.
4.7 Shreddable Materials
The Model 2SSD is capable of destroying the following products:
1” solid state hard drives
CD/DVD/optical media (with select screen sizes)
Thumb drives
PDAs and cell phones ( You MUST remove batteries and display prior)
Tablets
Contact SEM Customer Care for details about any other media.
4.8 Unacceptable Materials
All capacitors, batteries, and liquid-crystal displays MUST be removed
from solid state drives and other solid state media before running
through the Model 2SSD. This will often involve opening the product
before running it through the unit.
Example:
Reminder: This unit should
never be used to destroy a
rotational hard drive.
Catastrophic damage to the
machine will occur and your
warranty will be voided.
