DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. General
The headset assemblies of the HMEC 26 series are produced for the use in all types of jet aircraft.
2. Description
The headset assemblies, referred to as the Headsets, have these main components:
-a headset
- a cable assembly referred to as the Cable.
The headset has the components that follow:
- a headband with 1 pair of headband paddings (not illustrated)
- two headphone caps with acoustic units, one of them with a microphone arm support
- an adjustable microphone arm.
The headphone acoustic units each have a transducer with an incorporated electret microphone to detect
environmental noises. The active noise compensating system NoiseGard™ reduces the environmental
noises.
The two headphone acoustic units are attached to the headband.
The microphone arm with a noise-canceling pre-polarized condenser microphone is attached to the
cap with the microphone arm support.
There are two different variants of the headset, the HMEC 26 headset and HMEC 26-T headset. The
headset HMEC 26-T has the same functions as the HMEC 26 and additionally the Talk Through function.
