The cover or the SPF/RSPF cover might be open, so ensure they are closed. The toner cartridge could be empty, requiring a replacement. If [L1-00] appears, turn off the power, release the scan head locking switch, and turn the power back on. If none of these apply, try turning the power off, waiting 10 seconds, and turning it back on. If the error persists, contact an authorized service representative.

Then, restart your computer, restore power to the copier, and try scanning again. If your application is not TWAIN/WIA compliant, scanning will not be possible. Also, scanning a large area in full color at high resolution results in a large amount of data and extended scanning times.
