Step 7: Transfer (Transfer corona unit)
The cqy paper is chargedto a hgher potentialthan the drum sur-
face by means of a negaWe transfercorona unit,a strongerattrac-
tion exists appears between the copy paper and the tonerthan b-
tween the drum and the toner. So the toner ia drawnfrom the drum
to paper.
Toner transfer efficiencyis between 70 to 8070, 20 to 30Y0remains
on the drum.

Step 9: Dl=harge
By exposing the drum sudace to the dbcharge lamp, postive and
negative charges appear in the CGL. The negative charge
producedin the CGL advances toward the residualpos~tie charge
in the aluminiumlayer, whik the poaitivech~e advances in the
aluminumtowd the restiud negahe charge on the drumsurface.
In this way, the poaitfvecharge and the negatie charge neutralhe
each otheron the drumsurfaceand inthe aluminiumlayer.
