i) Functions of pins
l SW (pin No. 1)
Used to switch between the INT signal from the video chroma circuit and the EXT signal from the EXT R/G/B
input terminal. At “L” level, the INT signal is accepted; at “H” level, the EXT signal.
l CONTRAST (pin No. 2)
Used to receive DC voltage and to adjust the contrast of primary colour output.
l EXT IN B, EXT IN G, EXT IN R (pin Nos. 3, 4 and 5)
Used to receive the external R, G and B inputs. Each input should come through a coupling capacitor.
l VCCl (pin No. 6)
Used to connect positive-polarity power.
l VEE (pin Nos. 7 and 31)
Used to connect negative-polarity power.
l C IN (pin No. 8)
Used to input the chroma signal.
l ACC FILTER (pin No. 9)
Used to connect with the ACC detection filter.
l Y IN (pin No. 10)
Used to receive the luminance signal.
l COLOR (pin No. 11)
Used to receive DC voltage for colour adjustment.
l F ADJ (pin No. 12)
A resistor is added between this terminal and GND. Used to adjust the filter’s frequency characteristic.
l AGC OUT (pin No. 13)
Used to output the voltage detected by the video system AGC detector.
l AGC FILTER (pin No. 14)
Used to connect a filter to detect the video system’s AGC.
l CLAMP (pin No. 16)
Used to connect with a capacitor to clamp the luminance signal pedestal.
l APL (pin No. 17)
Used to connect a filter to detect the luminance signal’s APL (Average Picture Level).
l H FILTER OUT (pin No. 18)
Used to output the video signal for sync separation.
l SYNC SEP (pin No. 19)
Used to input the video signal for the sync separation circuit.
l SYNC OUT (pin No. 20)
Used to output the sync signal picked up by the sync separation circuit. Can be connected with a controller
with different power supply because of the open-collector output type. The output signal gets to “H” level for
sync and to ‘I” level otherwise.
