The SICK pressure switch has one or two digital outputs. Both switching outputs are transmitted as
processdataviaIO-Link.TheswitchingoutputQ2isalsoavailableatpin2oftheM12connector.In
theSIOmodetheswitchingoutputC/Q1isavailableatpin4oftheM12connector.
Inthecommunicationmodethispinisexlusivelyusedforcommunication.Informationfromthe
pressureswitcharetransmittedusing"frametype2.2".Bit0containstheswitchingstateofswitch
Q1whereasbit2containstheswitchingstateofswitchQ2.Thedigit1correspondstothelogical
state"closed"orto+24Vonthecorrespondingoutput,respectively.
Theremaining14bitsreecttheanalogmeasurementvalueofthepressureswitch.Theanalog
pressuremeasurementvalueismappedtoarangeof0to10000(digits).Thelowerendofthe
measuringrange(MBA)correspondstothevalue1000whereastheupperendofthemeasuring
range (MBE) corresponds to 9000. Hence, it is required to know the measuring range of the sensor
in order to translate the transmitted continuous measurement signal into the actual pressure.
