The validation and data storage settings (inspection levels) allow you to define the level
of compatibility check of a connected IO-Link Device. For more information regarding
usage and use cases, see "Data Storage", page 75.

2 Type compatible Device (V1.1): Inspection is performed
on IO-Link port regarding revision ID, Device ID, and Ven‐
dor ID.
3 Type compatible Device (V1.1) with Backup + Restore:
Inspection is performed on IO-Link port regarding revi‐
sion ID, Device ID, and Vendor ID. Data Storage (read
and write) allowed.
4 Type compatible Device (V1.1) with Restore: Inspection
is performed on IO-Link port regarding revision ID,
Device ID, and Vendor ID. Data Storage (write) allowed.
NOTE
Data storage requires that Expected Vendor and Device ID are set and match con‐
nected device for more information see "Data Storage", page 75.
7.1.2.2.1.4 Expected Vendor ID
Expected Vendor ID allows you to define Vendor ID that a connected IO-Link Device
must conform to.
NOTE
Vendor ID is only checked for Inspection Level “1”…”4”.
