You cannot test your program until you have downloaded it to the CPU of
your S7-300.
You can download either individual blocks or the complete user program to
the CPU of your programmable controller. Only individual blocks can be
tested.
We aim to show you the basic procedure for downloading and testing using
the TLIGHT sample program. The figure below gives a task-oriented
overview:

Download the user program to the CPU
Testing an STL, LAD, or FBD block:
S Open the block online
S Define the settings for the test display
S Define the trigger conditions
S Select the test environment
S Start and stop the test
