5.2.6 Connecting the pipe system to the aspirating smoke
detector
w The pipe system has been mounted.
w The first 500mm of a pipe system with an aspirating smoke detector are
configured in a straight line so any flow turbulence can settle before the air
enters the aspirating smoke detector.
1. NOTICE!It must be possible to detach the connection to the aspirating
smoke detector in order to perform maintenance – this connection must
not be glued.
Press the short pipe into the air inlet of the aspirating smoke detector.
2. Connect the pipe system to the pressed-in pipe.
