About this document
The procedure for following the TÜV/MCERTS certificate includes three main issues:
1. The hardware must not be altered from the original hardware delivered with the
certificate.
2. Maintenance checks must be carried out regularly.
3. Annual Surveillance Tests (AST) must be carried out by an accredited measurement
institute (e.g. according Bundesimmissionsschutz-Gesetz BImSchG §§ 26, 28).
This document covers the annual functional tests according to point 3 above.

Introduction
For LDS 6 HCl/H
2
O analyzers a linearity check of the HCl concentration can be
performed using the RC 3009 verification kit. This kit contains one 2-meter hybrid
cable, one sensor board and detector and five black boxes to which the single mode
fibre and the detector can be connected. Four of the boxes contain glass cells filled
with a mixture of HCl and nitrogen. The fifth box is empty and thus has only a zero
path in the ambient air. The linearity check must be performed in an ambient air
temperature range of 5-40 °C, but is preferably performed at normal room
temperature. The verification kit must have the same temperature as the ambient air.
