12a.
Orient the breaker such that the “ON”-side (with Bus
Extensions, part of Item 15) fits into the Top Barrier
(Item 4) and the “OFF”-side nestles between the
two fins on the Breaker Mounting Bracket (Item 5).
INSTALLING THE BREAKER:
12b. Fasten the breaker to the Breaker Mounting Bracket
(Item 5) with two #8-32 screws (part of Item 15).
(NOTE: Some breakers are packaged with a pair
of Breaker-Mounting Screws. If this occurs, dispose
of the pair that shipped with the breaker and use the
pair from this kit.)
12c. Align the Bus Extension (part of Item 15) holes with
the holes in the Straps (Items 1, 2 and 3) and fasten
with one 5/16”-18 screw (part of Item 15) per phase.
12d. If installing two breakers in the same unit space,
repeat the three steps above.

12e. Keeping components aligned, tighten all screws to
the torque values specified on the back of the
deadfront (or the table on Page 2).
INSTALLING THE NEUTRALS:
13a. If this kit is installed in a panelboard with a neutral,
install the Branch Neutral Lug Assembly (Item 13).
Locate on the Branch Neutral at either the top or
bottom of the Z-rails. Lug can be mounted on either
side of the Branch Neutral, depending on cable feed
location.
13b. If this kit is installed in a switchboard with a neutral,
install the Branch Neutral Lug Assembly (Item 14).
It can be mounted as shown or on any available
hole of the branch neutral, depending on cable feed
location.

13c. Keeping components aligned, tighten all screws to
the torque values specified on the back of the
deadfront (or the table on Page 2).
DEADFRONT PREPARATION:
14a. If a provision is in place, install the Provision Filler
Assembly (Item 16) in the appropriate Cover Plate
(Item 6) opening. Place a screw into each of the two
corner square holes and locate the filler plate onto
the front of the Cover Plate, with the label facing out.
Then, fasten two lock nuts onto the screws from the
rear of the Cover Plate.

14b. Position the Cover Plate (Item 6) over the five inch
unit space and fasten with four 1/4”-20 screws
(Item 7) onto the deadfront rails, one at each corner.
14c. Mark the I.D. cards (Item 11) as desired and place
onto the rear of Card Holder (Item 10), with the
marking facing out. Attach this subassembly to the
Cover Plate (Item 6) by aligning and pushing the
pins into the appropriate pair of holes in the Cover
Plate (Item 6).
FINAL PREPARATION:
15. Before energizing the equipment, ensure that
the deadfront, barriers and fillers are in place and
secure, and that all the covers are properly installed.

This instruction sheet can also be used as reference for
these two Panel Builder kits: KS3VA52T & KS3VA52TD
These two kits will ship with all the same components as kits
S3VA52T & S3VA52TD except for:
nut keepers & provision filler plate assemblies
Additionally, when installing a factory-installed provision,
nut keepers must be purchased with the breaker
NOTE: Provision Filler Assembly (Item 16) not a
component of kits KS3VA52T or KS3VA52TD. Skip 14a.

Nut keepers must be purchased with the breaker. Order options are:
for 3VA52 breakers: 3VA9233-0QA00 (kit of 3)
for 3VA61/62 breakers: 3VA9243-0QA00 (kit of 3)
or factory-installed on the breaker by using a “2” as the 12th
character in the breaker order: ( Ex.: 3VA61405HL320AA0 )
For factory-installed provisions, verify that the strap kit contains
bus extensions. (See Figure 12 on page 3 for reference.)
If bus extensions are not included, kit S3VA52PR is required,
one kit per breaker. Consult Siemens for more details.

Summary

Installing the Breaker

Breaker Orientation and Fastening

Orient breaker into bracket and fasten with #8-32 screws.

Bus Extension Installation

Align and fasten bus extension to straps using 5/16"-18 screws per phase.

Torque Specification

Tighten all screws to specified torque values.

Installing Neutrals

Panelboard Neutral Lug Installation

Install Branch Neutral Lug Assembly on panelboard Z-rails.

Switchboard Neutral Lug Installation

Install Branch Neutral Lug Assembly on switchboard neutral.

Neutral Lug Torque

Tighten neutral lug assembly screws to specified torque values.

Deadfront Preparation

Provision Filler Assembly Installation

Install filler assembly into cover plate opening, securing with screws and lock nuts.

Cover Plate Installation

Position cover plate over unit space and fasten with 1/4"-20 screws.

ID Card Holder Attachment

Mark and attach ID cards to rear of card holder, then to cover plate.

Final Preparation and Safety

Pre-Energization Check

Ensure deadfront, barriers, and fillers are secure before energizing.

Panelboard Preparation

Unit Space Identification

Locate 5" unit space by measuring from the deadfront support.

Existing Module Removal

Remove all devices and components from the existing branch module.

Kit Contents Verification

Check shipping box for all included kit components.

System Preparation: Single-Phase

Top Barrier Installation (P4 Panelboards)

Assemble Top Barrier to A/C-phase bus for P4 panelboards.

Top Barrier Installation (P5 Panelboards)

Fasten Top Barrier to B-phase strap for P5 panelboards.

Top Barrier Support Bracket

Fit protruding Top Barrier Support bracket ends into pockets on the Top Barrier.

System Preparation: Three-Phase

B-phase Strap Installation

Fasten B-phase strap vertically centered in the unit space.

Top Barrier Placement

Center Top Barrier in the unit space for P4 or P5 panelboards.

A;C-Phase Strap Preparation

Strap 1 and Strap 2 Placement

Position A/C-phase straps onto the A-phase bus and barrier.

Strap Fastening

Fasten straps to A-phase bus using screws from the Bus Hardware Kit.

Breaker Mounting Bracket Preparation

Bracket Placement and Securing

Locate and secure Breaker Mounting Brackets to Base Rails with screws.

Breaker Preparation

Nut Keeper Insertion

Slide Nut Keeper under each phase stab on the breaker's 'ON' side.

Bus Extension Assembly

Assemble Bus Extension onto Nut Keeper using socket head cap screw.
