Section 14.1 Standards, approvals and safety instructions
ATEX approval
According to EN 60079-15 (Electrical apparatus for potentially explosive atmospheres - Part
15: Type of Protection "n") and EN 60079-0 (Electrical apparatus for potentially explosive gas
atmospheres - Part 0: General requirements).
OR
According to EN 60079-7 (Electrical apparatus for potentially explosive atmospheres - Part 7:
Increased safety “e”) and EN IEC 60079-0 (Electrical apparatus for potentially explosive gas
atmospheres - Part 0: General requirements).
Special conditions in hazardous area:
1. The devices may only be used in a range not exceeding pollution degree 2, as defined in
EN 60664-1.
2. The modules must be installed in a suitable enclosure that guarantees at least IP54 degree
of protection according to EN 60079-15 or EN 60079-7, taking into account the ambient
conditions during use.
3. Measures must be taken to protect against exceeding the nominal operating voltage by
more than 119 V due to short-time disturbance voltages.
IECEx approval
According to IEC 60079-15 (Explosive atmospheres - Part 15: Equipment protection by type of
protection "n") and IEC 60079-0 (Explosive atmospheres - Part 0: Equipment - General
requirements).
