WARNING
Incorrect power supply
The power supply unit for supplying the devices must comply with NEC Class2 or PS2/LPS
according to UL 62368-1:
• Voltage range 19.2 - 31.2V for DC and 19.2 - 30.0V for AC (50 / 60Hz)
• Current consumption max. 3.0A for AC
• Current consumption max. 3.0A for DC
Do not operate the devices on DC voltages higher than DC 31.2V.
Do not operate the devices on AC voltages higher than AC 30.0V.
CAUTION
Overvoltage protection for the power supply cables
If the device is supplied over long 24 V power cables or extensive power grids, measures against
coupling of strong electromagnetic pulses to the power cables are required. These can result,
for example, due to lightning or switching of large inductive loads.
One of the tests used to attest the immunity of the device to electromagnetic interference is the
"surge immunity test" according to EN 61000-4-5. This test requires overvoltage protection for
the power supply lines. The following Blitzductors are suitable, for example:
24VDC: Dehn Blitzductor BVT AVD 24, order number 918 422
24VAC: Dehn Blitzductor BVT ALD 60, order number 918 409.

Information on the power supply
• The power supply is connected using two 2-pin plug-in terminal blocks. The terminal blocks
ship with the device.
• The power supply can be connected redundantly. Both inputs are isolated. There is no
distribution of load. When a redundant power supply is used, the power supply unit with the
higher output voltage supplies the device alone.
• The power supply is connected over a high resistance with the enclosure to allow an
ungrounded set up. The two power inputs are non-oating.
