Procedure for device configuration with GSD file
Table 2- 3 Steps for configuring following a Y-link/redundant H station
Step Action

• Select the SIMATIC 400 station in the component view.
• Select the "Edit > Open Object" menu command.
The HW Config opens.

• If the hardware catalog is not visible, select the "View > Catalog" menu command.
• Install the necessary GSD file for the motor starter:
Menu command "Options > Install GSD file".
• In the standard hardware catalog, open the "PROFIBUS DP > Additional Field Devices > I/O > ET 200S > ET
200S HighFeature" folder.
• Open the folders "Additional Field Devices > I/O > ET 200S > ET 200S High Feature" one after the other
• Use a drag-and-drop operation to move the ET 200S station and all required modules, such as power
modules and motor starters, to the "DP master system". The "Properties" dialog box opens.
• Enter the PROFIBUS address.
This is the same address as the address of the device station of the motor starter.
• Click "OK".
The settings are accepted.

• Compile the hardware configuration: "Station > Save and Compile".
• Set the PG/PC interface to CP 5613 A2 (PROFIBUS)
• Download the automation station configuration: "PLC Download".
