Operating and monitoring the process

Introduction
If you open the OS from SIMATIC Manager and activate the OS project, you can then
perform operator control and monitoring of the process.
Requirements
● CFC charts and the OS must be created and downloaded to the target system.
● Ensure that the CPU is in RUN mode.
● SIMATIC Manager must be open, and the project displayed in the component view.

• Right-click to open the block icon of the signal processing block, e.g., MS_DIR.
• Select the "Open Object" menu command.

• Select the "File > Activate" menu command in WinCC .

• Click on "Process cell(1)" in the top-left of the overview area of the "SIMATIC PCS 7 Process Control"
operator interface.
• Select "Function(1) > Position(1)" in the hierarchy
The automatically created block icon of the signal-processing block, e.g., MS_DIR or MS_REV is displayed.

• Click the block icon of the signal-processing block, e.g., MS_DIR or MS_REV in the work area of the operator
interface.
The faceplate of the motor starter is displayed in the working area of the operator interface.
• All the operations enabled for the user can be executed in the faceplate of a block.
Follow the procedure described above for the MS_REV, MS_DSL, MS_RSL, MS_STAT and
MS_MEAS blocks.
