7.4 Stoppages
Measures for stationary motors that are ready for operation
• Operate the motor regularly, at least once a month, in the event of longer non-operational
periods.
Damage due to improper storage
The motor can be damaged if it is not stored properly.
• If the motor is out of service for extended periods of time, apply suitable anti-
corrosion, preservation, and drying measures.
• For longer non-operational periods carefully read the notes in Chapter "Storage (Page 51)
".
• When recommissioning after long non-operational periods, perform the checks and
measures listed in Chapter, " Commissioning (Page 97) ".
• Observe Chapter "Switching on and switching off (Page 104)" before switching on to
recommission the system.
