About these Operating Instructions
These Operating Instructions are applicable for planetary gearboxes, which are available with
SIMOTICS S servomotors; these will be subsequently called "Planetary gearboxes". These
Operating Instructions are only applicable in conjunction with the Operating Instructions of
the connected servomotor.
The Operating Instructions provide information about the components that enable the target
group to install, set up, test, commission, operate, and troubleshoot the products and
systems correctly and safely.
These Operating Instructions provide information about handling planetary gearboxes, from
the initial delivery to disposal.
Additional information is provided in the engineering manual for the respective servomotors.
Carefully read these Operating Instructions before handling the planetary gearbox. This will
ensure safe, problem-free operation and maximize the service life of the gearbox.
