4.1.1 Connecting device in energized state in hazardous areas
WARNING
Connecting device in energized state
Risk of explosion in hazardous areas.
Connect devices in hazardous areas only in a de-energized state.
Exceptions:
Devices having the type of protection "Intrinsic safety Ex i" may also be connected in
energized state in hazardous areas.
Exceptions for type of protection "Non-sparking nA/ec" (Zone 2) are regulated in the
relevant certificate.
Note
Improvement of interference immunity
Lay signal cables separate from cables with voltages > 60 V.
Use cables with twisted wires.
Keep device and cables at a distance from strong electromagnetic fields.
Take account of the conditions for communication specified in the Technical
specifications (Page 65).
Use shielded cables to guarantee the full specification according to HART/PA/FF.
