RS232C TO DC COMM CONVERTER, 592-394
The DC COMM to RS232C and RS232C to DC COMM converters each provide a switch package (Sl) which
selects the board’s baud rate. (See the SMUX CPU board jumper package Sl , Figure 1, to determine the proper
baud rate for the communication channels.) Set the switches on Sl as follows:

The DC COMM to RS232C converter also has a slide switch package (S2) that you use to select whether the
Request to Send (RTS) and Data Terminal Ready (DTR) signals are constantly HIGH or constantly LOW. Set the
switches on S2 as follows:
RTS ALWAYS HIGH
- move S2-1 toward IC28 (normal)
Note:
Switches 3 and 4 on switch package S2
RTS ALWAYS LOW - move S2-1 toward IC21
are UNUSED.
DTR ALWAYS HIGH - move S2-2 toward IC28 (normal)
DTR ALWAYS LOW - move S2-2 toward IC21
