Satellites that appear near the horizon are subject to signal fade.
They also pick up more atmospheric noise than satellites orbiting
higher above the horizon.
A typical mask angle is between 10 and 15 degrees.
COG/SOG filter time
The COG/SOG filter is used to give a more stable reading of the
velocity vectors calculated from the GPS signals. This filter does not
affect the calculation of the GPS position.
The filter time defines the time frame for the filtering of the data.
Slow moving vessels, or vessels sailing in rough seas will benefit
from a high setting. Vessels that can quickly change speed and
direction will benefit from a low setting.
GNSS mode
Used for selecting if the position data will be determined using GPS
satellites only, or a combination of GPS and GLONASS satellites.
DGPS mode
Controls the DGPS corrections to the GPS signals.
Ú
Note: It is recommended to turn the DGPS mode to OFF when
navigating in areas where the land-based differential beacon
signals are not available.
Beacon frequency
Used for manually setting the beacon frequency.
Mixed mode
This option is used if you want to include satellites that do not have
DGPS or SBAS correction included.
