7. CERTIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS
7.1. Certification
The GD1 has been certified according to ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and IECEx scheme.
7.2. Marking
The GD1 product identification labels are shown in the figure below. The composition of
the labels is in accordance with ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU.

7.3. Specific condition for use in Explosive Atmosphere “X”
“X”- Flameproof joints have values different from those specified in the tables of standard
EN 60079-1. Simtronics does not allow repairs and disclaims any responsibility for material
modifications.
The threaded joints may be lubricated to maintain flameproof protection. Only non-
hardening lubricants or non-corrosive agents having no volatile solvents may be used.
“X”-The fasteners used on the Ex-d enclosure must be of the type specified by the
manufacturer M6x10, yield stress min. 500MPa
“X”-The Cable gland may not provide sufficient clamping. User shall provide additional
clamping of the cable to ensure that pulling and twisting is not transmitted to the
terminations.
