HEMSTITCHING
• Fold a double hem ofdesired width and baste.
• Mark a guidelinefor hemstitching on rightside offabricjust
above top of hem edge.

Foot: Special Purpose (J)
Needle Plate: General Purpose (A)
Adjust balance, ifnecessary
• Placework, rightside up with hem facing, right,under press-
er foot.
• Lower presser foot and stitchalong guideline.
• Be sure stitcheson left side of line fallover hem edge (into
singlethickness offabric) and stitcheson right sidefall into
double fold of hem.
