6.4 AC Connection
6.4.1 AC Connection Requirements
For all AC cable connections to the Sunny Boy, use a max. 6 AWG copper wire that is designed for
+194 °F (+90 °C) even if voltage drop and other considerations mean that the use of larger cable
cross sections is required. Use only cables made of solid wire or rough-wire strands. Do not use fine-
wire strands.
CAUTION
Risk of fire
Risk of cable fire due to overcurrent.
The electrical installation must include overcurrent protection for the AC output circuit.
Set up the overcurrent protection for 50 A maximum.
Carry out all electrical installations according to all of the applicable on site electrical
standards and the National Electrical Code
®
(NE, ANSI/NFPA 70).
