  If your Smarthome ICON Lamp Dimmer is locked up, it may have glitched due to a surge or excessive noise on the powerline. Try unplugging it for 10 seconds and then reinstalling it. If that doesn't work, perform a Factory Reset.

Why does my Smarthome lamp flash when I tap the SET button on my ICON Lamp Dimmer?

  When you tap the SET Button on your Smarthome ICON Lamp Dimmer, the lamp you are controlling flashes, set the X10 Primary Address On-Level brightness to whatever you want using any Controller, then tap the SET Button again. If you are not using ICON Lamp Dimmer in X10 mode, this setting will be ignored.

What to do if the lamp doesn't come on when I manually activate the lamp’s switch on my Smarthome ICON?

  If the lamp doesn't come on when you manually activate the lamp’s switch with the Smarthome ICON Lamp Dimmer, the Local Control feature may be set to off (during X10 Primary Address setting). Re-set the X10 Primary Address by sending the house and unit code followed by an X10 ON command.

Why doesn’t my Smarthome ICON Lamp Dimmer respond to X10 address A1?

  If your Smarthome ICON Lamp Dimmer doesn’t respond to X10 address A1 when you first set it up, it’s because the Dimmer doesn't have an X10 Primary Address set up at the factory. Set up an X10 Primary Address by following the instructions in the section X10 PROGRAMMING OPTIONS.

  If you're having difficulty performing advanced X10 programming with your Smarthome ICON Lamp Dimmer, ensure that the X10 “MNOP” house and unit codes were sent in the correct order. Also, avoid holding down the buttons on your X10 controller for too long, as this can cause duplicate codes to be sent.

What to do if my two-prong Smarthome ICON Lamp Dimmer does not fit in my wall outlet?

  If your two-prong Smarthome ICON Lamp Dimmer doesn't fit in your wall outlet, it's because the polarized prongs are not compatible with older AC outlets. The Dimmer's prongs are polarized so that it may only be inserted one way into a receptacle. If your home’s outlets are over 40 years old, replacing the outlet with a modern one will allow the Dimmer and many other modern devices to be used safely. Do not defeat this safety feature.
