M2 Scope/Meter M2 Scope/Meter Remote Operation
Once the M2 Scope/Meter is initially paired with the Diagnostic Tool, additional pairing is not
necessary. Although the discovery mode has been disabled, the two-paired devices
automatically seek and find each other when they are both powered on. The M2 Scope/Meter
becomes “invisible” to other Bluetooth devices whenever Bluetooth Discovery is disabled.

8.4.3 Remote Operation (Once paired)
Once the M2 Scope/Meter has been paired to the Diagnostic Tool, the M2 Scope/Meter can be
remotely connected and operated at anytime using your Diagnostic Tool. This allows you to use
the M2 Scope/Meter in stand-alone mode and quickly switch to remote mode as needed.
The M2 Scope/Meter transmits data wirelessly to your Diagnostic Tool, allowing you to use your
Diagnostic Tool display to view and control the M2 Scope/Meter.
z To remotely operate the M2 Scope/Meter with the Diagnostic Tool:
1. Set the M2 Scope/Meter Rotary Switch to the Remote Functions position (Figure 8-26).
When the Rotary Switch is set to the Remote Functions position the M2 Scope/Meter will
attempt to communicate with a paired Diagnostic Tool. If the M2 Scope/Meter is paired with a
Diagnostic Tool, it will automatically connect to it, if within range.
