System Setup-Without Window
or Macintosh® OS X
If your operating system is not Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Macintosh OS X or later,
you can use the Sonos Controller to configure your music system and set up access to
your music files. The Sonos Digital Music System will recognize many standard shared
folders on your computer. For additional information, visit our Web site at http://
faq.sonos.com/sharing.
If you have digital music files stored on a computer or other device on your home
network such as network-attached storage (NAS), the computer directories or folders
that contain these music files must be shared so that the Sonos Digital Music System
can access them. Before you begin, enable file sharing on each computer that holds the
music files you want to access.
Note: If you have just purchased a new Sonos Controller CR100, you should charge
the battery. Connect your Sonos Controller to the power adapter using the adapter
cable (see the Controller Setup Guide.) You can use your Controller while it is
charging.
