The
RELEASE
command
is
used
to
release
previously
reserved
logical
units.
It
is
not
an
error
for
an
initiator
to
attempt
to
release
a
reservation
tha·t
is
not
currently
active.
In
this
case,
the
controller
returns
GOOD
status
without
altering
any
other
reservation.
This
command
will
cause
the
controller
to
terminate
the
logical
unit
reservation
from
the
initiator
The
third-party
release
for
the
RELEASE
command
allows
an
initiator
to
release
a
logical
unit
reserved
using
third-party
reservation.
If
the
third-party
(3rdPty)
bit
is
zero,
then
the
third-party
release
option
is
not
requested.
If
the
3rdPty
bit
is
one,
the
controller
will
release
the
specified
logical
unit
only
if
the
reservation
was
made
using
the
third-party
reservation
option
by
the
initiator
that
is
requesting
the
release
for
the
same
initiator
as
specified
in
the
third-party
device

field.
